Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
