Trump's Organization Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this year, while his administration was creating barriers for other businesses wanting to do the identical, an analysis released recently claimed.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business sought to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for short-term roles at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for temporary work visas for workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever submitted by the organization, and up from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that the former president had attempted to bring in more than 100 foreign employees for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the implementation of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the 55 million people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the Trump Organization aimed to employ 566 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this week for remarks defending the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy certain positions.

“You can’t just say a country is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a facility, and going to take people off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he stated to a host after she suggested that foreign workers lower the wages of American employees.

The administration declined a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
